RESTARTING ALL UNCLAIMED INITIAL AUCTIONS AT THE END OF THE MONTH 🗓 We moved to direct registration of domain names more than a year ago, which means unclaimed initial auctions have been stale for quite some time. All these stale unclaimed auctions will be restarted at their registration price on the 31st of May. Back in the day, we adopted an auction system to obtain a domain name in an effort to ensure their fair distribution. These initial auctions required the winner themselves to claim the domain. Many of these are still unclaimed and have been for more than a year now. This is different to secondary auctions since anyone can trigger their transfer (the money to the seller and the domain to the buyer) so resells are not an issue. We trust users who won these initial auctions have had enough time to claim their domain. If not, we urge you to do so before the 31st of May. If you leave the domain unclaimed past this date you will be able to cancel your bid. Please reach out to us if you have any questions!
